Women challenged to tell their stories

WOMEN empowerment lobbyists have challenged women to come out and tell their own stories as part of efforts amplify their voices on key societal issues.

Speaking during a Women’s Media for Development Foundation (WMDF) dialogue meeting in Bulawayo, activists drawn from community work, media and civic society emphasised the need for women to set their own agenda through having their stories being widely captured in the media.

The activists believe bridging the barriers to women participation in governance processes can go a long way in challenging stereotypes and promoting a balanced representation of women in the news media in Zimbabwe.
